Wahhaj family shares new information, possible motive behind New Mexico Compound (Aug 2018)

Yusuf Sabr, who claims to be the brother of Jany Leveille, one of the defendants in the New Mexico compound mystery, has reached out to the press and the Wahhaj family to provide further information into the possible motivation behind the family’s bizarre abduction of a three-year old child and his subsequent death. (The remains have now been confirmed to be those of Abdul Ghani.) Jany is the Islamic wife of Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, son of a well-known New York Imam of the same name. The deceased child, Abdul Ghani, is the biological son of Siraj Jr.

According to Yusuf, sometime last year, Siraj Ibn Wahhaj and his sister Hujrah Wahhaj visited an unnamed expert in black magic in London who let them know that they were both under evil spells—Siraj was under 12 spells and Hujrah was under 2 spells—cast by two people close to them. They believed the spells had been cast by Hakima, the legal wife of Siraj and biological mother of the deceased boy, and possibly their stepmother. They later changed their mind and decided the stepmother was not involved, but instead an unknown sister of Moroccan descent residing in Texas. Eventually, Siraj, Jany, Hujrah, Subhannah and Lucas (the 5 adults in the compound) all became convinced they were under spells and needed to escape the influence. In addition, Siraj Jr. was convinced that Hakima was performing spells on her child, Abdul Ghani, and that the boy needed to be extracted from her influence. To try and counteract the influence of evil spells, the family also began performing an exorcism-like ritual on one another called a “ruqya.”

As they headed to New Mexico, the family was involved in a car accident that they also attributed to bad magic when Siraj Jr. opened an email on his phone from this second unnamed sister. Once he opened the email, the entire family blacked out, and this caused the wreck—implying that the black magic was released through the email itself. From this time forward, the Wahhaj family no longer used email.

Once in New Mexico, it appears that Jany became convinced that she was receiving messages directly from god, or his angel, and that she could also interpret dreams. She could make accurate predictions and had vision-like revelations of what the family was supposed to do.

At this time the family also started performing more ruqya on Abdul Ghani and the child eventually died sometime around Christmas. According to Yusuf, the family kept Abdul’s body for 4 months, washing his body every 2 to 3 days, believing he would be resurrected, possibly as the messiah. After 4 months, when the body began to decay, the family gave up that idea and buried his body in Jesus-like fashion, wrapped in cloth and behind a stone.

Meanwhile, Jany interpreted a dream of Siraj Jr.  and ordered that they begin digging for treasure. According to Yusuf, this is the explanation for the tunnel that was found at the site. The family reported to Yusuf they had eventually struck it rich, finding trillions of dollars worth of diamonds. They sent pictures to Yusuf, who in turn shared the photos with Wahhaj family representatives. The “diamonds” appeared to be nothing more than rough quartz and a few other shiny stones. The family reburied the treasure on the site.

The brother Yusuf offered other examples of Jany’s special powers, including making it rain, rendering others invisible, and predicting the date they would be arrested.

Once Abdul Ghani was not resurrected, the family searched for other mystical explanations for why this might have occurred. Eventually, they decided Abdul Ghani had died at birth and had been possessed by a jinn (demon) and had been kept alive by his mother Hakima by evil spells. In addition, they believed that the real Abdul Ghani is inside the baby currently being carried by sister Subhannah who is now 7 months pregnant, and the suggestion is that the baby born to Subhannah will be the messiah. (To complicate matters further, Jany believes she is the true mother of the first Abdul Ghani and that Hakima stole the baby from her womb.)

When questioned about all the weaponry at the compound, Yusuf claims the family was not intent on committing acts of violence, but was afraid of their neighbors and simply had the weapons and ammunition as self-defense.

This story was relayed via a YouTube video recorded by Wahhaj family representatives and spokesmen Anas and Ali Abdul-Karim Judan. Neither of the two endorses this version of events nor do they believe this follows any kind of Islamic belief system practiced in the mainstream. They are simply relating what Jany’s brother Yusuf believes to be true. Yusuf lives in Haiti and his sister Jany is a Haitian citizen now on hold under ICE regulations.

Update from Imam Siraj Wahhaj’s wife, Jamilah Bint Leroy Daniel:

As Salaam Alaikum Facebook Family and Friends.

Update on baby Abdul Ghani, the medical examiner have finished identifying him. They are finalizing the caused of his death. In Sha Allah, we’re praying we can lay baby Abdul-Ghani to rest this upcoming week. I will post the date, time and place as soon as we know when we can return his remains to Georgia.

Many of you are asking about the 11 grandchildren who was found with their parents in New Mexico. In Sha Allah we’re working drastically to get our grandchildren with relatives who can care for each them. Please keep all of the grandchildren in your prayers.

In regards to their parents as of to date they are still waiting to be released all except for Siraj Ibn, and Jany Leveille. Many of you stressed your concerns about the LaunchGood donations with the Imam Siraj’s name on it, and if rather or not those funds are going to be used to get his adult children out on bail or to pay for Attorney fees?

I want to stress to you, your donations will only assist with Attorney fees for the family and the grandchildren to get them out of the system and to meet the guidelines and the needs of the children only.

For the record the lawyers who are representing the defenders are court appointed attorneys. Hujrah, Subhanah, and Lucas Morten are granted 20,000 signature bond with stipulations. In order for them to be released they must meet court orders. They do not need money from us to bail them out or to provide housing because the state are providing them housing and the three of them can sign themselves out on a signature bond. As of to date they are still in jail while waiting for the ankle monitors. Remember New Mexico laws are different.

Siraj Ibn is not being released on bail because of charges in Georgia. Jany not being released on bail because of her immigration charges.

What I am asking, for those who want to give please give to the LaunchGood with Imam Siraj name on it. And or donate to the go fund me page with Hakima Ramzi name on it, In Sha Allah.

Please don’t get caught up in the Fitnah and stop allowing people to whisper or drop seeds that caused you harm. Many tried to make it only about the Imam….however, this is about everyone who are involved. We all are hurting behind my stepchildren actions. A life was lost, lives was affected. Our grandchildren will need a lot of counseling. My stepchildren will need a lot physiological help.

My daughter in law will be needing counseling. Our number one priority is Hakima, and our grandchildren.

This is far from over because we still have the trial and only Allah knows their fate.

Always remember Allah is a Just God…no rock will be left unturned.

Please pray for my family and I will pray for yours… may Allah continue to bless us with much understanding and bless Hakima with much patience and to bless her to understand Allah’s Will… May Allah never put this type trial on other believers and their families… Ameen!!!
