Archbishop: Enemies of Iran, enemies of all divine religions

Tabriz, Jan 7, IRNA – Archbishop of Armenians in western Iran Grigor Chiftchian said on Sunday that the sacred system of the Islamic Republic is based upon principle of divine system, so its enemies would be, in fact, enemies of all divine religions.

He made the remarks in a commemoration ceremony for the Armenian martyrs from Azarbaijan provinces in eight year imposed war.

The archbishop underlined important position of Iran’s leader and said that the main pillar of the regime is its leadership and all Iranians should appreciate such leadership.

Chiftchian pointed to birth place of Prophet Jesus Christ (PBUH) in Palestine territory, and said that the great Satan and world arrogance powers wanted to separate Palestine land, while Palestine, Holy Quds and Jerusalem belong to all religions and do not belong to any specific person.

He reminded that all satanic conspiracies and plots against the sacred land of Palestine is doomed as this land belongs to all divine religions.

Archbishop Chiftchian added that every plan drawn by great powers for west Asia region will be neutralized by unity of people and divine religions.

Flight routes for Russia’s Su-30s over Baltic Sea in November and December were pre-agreed, Russian Defense Ministry says

MOSCOW, January 6. /TASS/. The flights of Russia’s Su-30SM fighter jets over the Baltic Sea on November 23 and December 13, 2017, were held in accordance with the international air space management rules and their routes were coordinated with air traffic control authorities, the Russian Defense Ministry press service said on Saturday.

“On November 23 and December 13, 2017, the crews of Russia’s Su-30SM fighter aircraft performed scheduled training missions over the Baltic Sea’s neutral waters. The flight route for the Russian fighter aircraft was coordinated with the air traffic control authorities and carried out in strict compliance with the international air space management rules without violating the borders of other states,” the report says.

The ministry also confirmed that NATO’s F-15s approached the Su-30SMs during the training missions. “During the training missions, NATO’s F-15 planes approached the Russian fighter aircraft at a safe distance, after which they altered their course and withdrew,” the Defense Ministry specified.

On Friday, the Pentagon released a video recording of US aircraft following two Russia’s Su-30 fighter aircraft in the international air space near the Baltic region on November 23 and December 13 last year. The command explained that the decision was prompted, among other things, by the absence of pre-agreed flight plans for the Russian aviation.

The 493rd Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, belonging to the 48th Fighter Wing, RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom, executes safe and standard intercepts while participating in the NATO Baltic Air Policing mission. Intercepts are a regular occurrence, and U.S. Air Force pilots routinely conduct them in a safe and professional manner. The U.S. Air Force will complete its fifth rotation as the lead nation for Baltic Air Policing on Jan. 8, 2018.

U.S. Air Force F-15s from RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom, intercept two Russian Navy SU-30 Flankers in international airspace near the Baltics, Nov. 23, 2017. The intercept was initiated because the Russian aircraft did not broadcast the appropriate codes required by air traffic control and had no flight plan on file. The U.S. Air Force deployed Airmen and aircraft from RAF Lakenheath to Šiauliai Air Base, Lithuania, for approximately four months to conduct the NATO peacetime air policing mission.

Russian hockey players will perform at 2018 Olympics in uniforms with OAR logo

MOSCOW, January 6. /TASS/. The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has confirmed that Russian players will be performing at the 2018 Olympic Games in South Korea’s PyeongChang in uniforms without a hockey player emblem and reading “Olympic Athlete from Russia” (OAR), the IIHF press service told TASS.

A source familiar with the uniform design coordination process told TASS earlier that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) had confirmed the uniform design. The initial version featured the hockey player logo instead of the Russian coat of arms. At present, the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) is waiting for the outfitter to finalize the uniforms. Russian hockey players will use two types of jerseys at the Games: red and white.

The IOC barred Russia’s team from the 2018 Olympic Games due to doping violations. That said, clean Russian athletes will be allowed to the Olympics; the IOC will form their list later. They will be performing under the Olympic flag, without any Russian symbols on their uniforms.

The 2018 Olympic Games will run on February 9-25 in PyeongChang.

Badoo Cult: Police in Nigeria Arrest “Killer Cult Group”

In late 2016, according to Nigerian authorities, a killer cult group known as badoo, began terrorizing and murdering citizens in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.

Lagos police arrested five suspected key members of the sect on January 2, 2018, and provided video evidence of a shrine run by Chief  Herbalist Fatai Adebayo, age 34.

The killings appeared to be ritual in nature. Victims were murdered in their sleep. At one point, citizens began to suspect the killers were supernatural (and thus invincible), but according to Nigerian press, the arrest of the five suspects proves members of the group are actually human beings.

Suspects confessed to authorities that they only operated at midnight and would spray a powdery substance prepared by the herbalist that would put victims into a deep state of sleep and would then smash the victim’s head with a grinding stone.

Vanguard Nigeria reports: “The powdery substance was also sprayed close to buildings around the targeted building to avoid any intrusion during operation. Thereafter, they would smash their victim’s head with a grinding stone, and dab their white handkerchiefs in victim’s blood before leaving the scene.”

During interrogation, one of the suspects said the cult members were fortified spiritually by drinking water used to wash dead bodies, drinking animal blood, spreading an oily substance from a calabash, and abstaining from sex before murdering someone. He also claimed he was desperate for employment and was offered money to perform the killings.

Further confessions revealed the entire purpose of the operation was to obtain the blood soaked handkerchiefs of the victims and then sell the handkerchiefs to rich politicians and other elite known as the “big boys.” The handkerchiefs soaked in blood were believed to be a source of empowerment and protection and were then used to perform money rituals.

Witchcraft and black magic beliefs have recently plagued Malawi, where villagers believe bloodsuckers are stealing their blood and have formed vigilante gangs leading to suspected vampires being murdered.

MOSCOW, January 7. /TASS/. Orthodox Christians in Russia and other countries around the world are celebrating Christmas on January 7.

Christians conclude a four-week fast during which they confess their sins and receive communion. And on Christmas Eve they have special fasting, “until the first star,” in memory of how the Magi came first to the birthplace of Christ following the movement of the star in the sky. At present, a candle in front of the altar, which is lit at the end of the Christmas Eve service at about noon, symbolizes the star.

World Leaders on Twitter: No Blocking or Removal of Tweets Will Occur

January 5, 2017, Twitter, Inc. Statement on policy toward accounts held by world leaders:

There’s been a lot of discussion about political figures and world leaders on Twitter, and we want to share our stance.

Twitter is here to serve and help advance the global, public conversation. Elected world leaders play a critical role in that conversation because of their outsized impact on our society.

Political Irony & Sarcasm on Twitter: New Study Finds it Appeals to Followers of India’s ‘Twitter-in-chief’

Blocking a world leader from Twitter or removing their controversial Tweets would hide important information people should be able to see and debate. It would also not silence that leader, but it would certainly hamper necessary discussion around their words and actions.

We review Tweets by leaders within the political context that defines them, and enforce our rules accordingly. No one person’s account drives Twitter’s growth, or influences these decisions. We work hard to remain unbiased with the public interest in mind.

We are working to make Twitter the best place to see and freely discuss everything that matters. We believe that’s the best way to help our society make progress.

Oklahoma man found in classroom wearing loincloth & trash bag

Photo: Police say a teacher at Parker Intermediate School found Dalton Earhart inside a portable classroom building wearing only pantyhose (or some sort of sheer cloth) and a trash bag. A school security camera caught the encounter and shows police remove Earhart from the building. (Parker Intermediate School)

An Oklahoma man entered classroom fully clothed during the wee hours of January 4. Later that morning, as teacher Kydel Billy arrived to open his room for the school day, he discovered Dalton Earhart, a former student at the school, dressed only in a self-fashioned loincloth with a trash bag over his head, perhaps intending to wear the bag as a shirt.

Police arrived and escorted the man from the building. Earhart had stuck a few items taken from the room into his loincloth and torn down a few classroom decorations, but other than that, no one was harmed.

Fortunately, he was escorted off the property before children were present to witness the odd scene. Earhart was suspected to be under the influence of drugs and is now awaiting arraignment in a local jail.
